My cousin Jeff made the military a career. During his career he had one failed marriage, and did not get married again. He retired from the military at the age of 48 after 30 years of service.
Jeff found himself in the odd position of being retired and alone. Military life did not prepare him for that. His kids are not as close as he would like. His son is probably the closest to him than any of his children. They go fishing every Saturday morning. His son always bring up the fact that he has not met a woman and settled down. Jeff tried to tell him that it was none of his business, but of course that statement did not go over as well as he had hoped. His son said that if his dad met a woman, then he would make it a point to meet one. So, Jeff went home that day after their trip, had a couple of drinks and figured that he would show him that his old man still had what it takes.
Jeff decided to try online dating because he wanted to learn more about someone before actually meeting them in person. Times have changed, and computers are in almost every house now. What surprised Jeff the most was the fact that he so quickly got a response to his profile. It took 1 day to match him with someone. He set up a meeting for that weekend. He has been dating Caitlin for about a week now. He still can not believe how great she is.
His son is a little miffed because Jeff brought her with him to their weekly fishing trip. He just wanted to show him that he was going to have to make do on his promise. Fair is fair after all. Now his son has to get a girlfriend. Jeff told him to try online dating. He told him meeting people over 50 is something that he does not have to worry about, and if it worked for his old man, I am sure it can work for him.
